Director, Middle East, Africa and Asia
David has spent over 25 years in the Middle East, working closely with several institutions and Arabian Gulf Families. During this time he has worked with government and industry leaders globally, predominantly in the GCC, Asia and Africa. He has served on several advisory boards and as a Non-Executive Director. David frequently leads multidisciplinary teams to develop complex commercial propositions.
David consults for many private entities and government institutions. He was the lead consultant for TDIC’s education project, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority’s investment arm. He was the lead consultant on a feasibility study to implement a FIFA Management Programme for the Swiss university, CIES. As a result of the study, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council acquired the rights. The programme is now successfully housed in the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi.
In 2008 he organised and led “In the Footsteps of our Ancestors” – a weeklong camel expedition, covering over 200 Km, across the 5 Northern Emirates with 10 Emirati Young Leaders. The expedition rediscovered an ancient trade route that connected the Indian Ocean with the Arabian Gulf.
David is currently involved in the debate around digital and youth, examining how esports and gaming can contribute to the national agenda. As well as supporting the national eSports Federation, David worked with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence to help develop the first UAE Government Initiative into digital gaming. This initiative supported the creation of the Global Commission of Tolerance in Esports and the inaugural UAE Tolerance Games. Commission Board Members include representatives from US President Carter’s Office, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, President of Asian Esports, President of FIDE, CEO of Special Olympics, Sports Commissioner of Malaysia and the Global Head of Esports for YouGov.
