David Gelsthorpe

David is Chief Exec of Collections Trust where he undertakes collections-based consultancy work across the sector. David has been Chair of the UK Museum Accreditation Scheme for four years, and is Chair of Your Trust, Rochdale’s Culture and Leisure Trust.

Most recently, David was Curator of Earth Sciences at Manchester University Museum for nineteen years, where he worked with a large collection, supporting researchers and decolonisation work.

David now works with a range of clients and partners in the UK and further afield on collections standards, reviews, policy, training and disposals.
