Jane is an entrepreneurial, collaborative and persuasive digital expert with over 25 years’ experience at a senior level leading new thinking and practice in the convergence of arts, culture and technology.
She is the CEO of Culture24 an internationally recognised independent charity and an important force in building digital capacity in the arts and heritage sector. Key projects at Culture24 include: Let’s Get Real, Emerge Lates Festival, Museum Crush, VanGoYourself and Museums at Night
She recently published The Digital Transformation agenda and GLAMs – a post-COVID strategic report for the Europeana Foundation to help them understand how to support digital capacity building across the cultural sector internationally.
She has spent the last decade working to bring the global museum and gallery sector into the 21st century and championing an audience-driven approach to cultural programming. She has worked nationally and internationally with on a wide range of strategic, digital, publishing, audience engagement, education and research initiatives with a wide range of partners including: BBC, Google, British Council, NHLF, Arts Council England, AirBnB, Visit Britain, Big Issue, Livity, University of Leicester, Europeana Foundation, Academia Sinica Taiwan, Canadian Heritage, LabforCulture and many more.
Between Feb and Oct 2017 she was on secondment part-time to the UK Department of Culture Media & Sport, working on the Culture is digital project which considered how culture and technology can work together to drive audience engagement, unleash the creative potential of technology and boost the capacity of cultural organisations. She was one of 50 female leaders from across the UK chosen by Cultural Leadership Programme for ‘Women to Watch’ – a list celebrating women who are making a huge contribution to the UK’s rich cultural life.
