John Coburn is a creative producer and cultural consultant working across arts, heritage and environmental sectors. He holds 16 years of experience leading multi-award winning public programmes, organisations, teams and networks. He has worked with and for museums, galleries, archives, libraries, third sector, government bodies, funding bodies, universities, environmental charities and NGOs.

As co-owner of an ancient woodland, John works with cultural, research and community partners to lead innovative heritage programmes that transform public engagement with place and the changing natural world.

Since 2021 John has worked with clients and commissioners including Durham County Council, Canal and River Trust, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic England, North Pennines National Landscape, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Newcastle University, Tyneside Cinema, Arts Council England, Museum of London Archaeology, Gateshead Council.

John is also a founder-trustee of Chopwell Regeneration CIO, an innovative resident-led charity addressing social inequality in the post-industrial village of Chopwell through cultural and health programmes, SME development and capital projects.
