
Mary has over 20 years of leadership experience in health and social care and in membership organisations. As Chief Executive of the Green Party of England and Wales, she led comprehensive organisational change that resulted in breakthrough electoral success, including a record four MPs in 2024. During her tenure, she oversaw significant growth in membership and income while implementing new digital systems for members and staff.
Previously, Mary held several senior leadership positions within the NHS. These included integrating services to deliver better health and developing new health facilities, including securing NHS funding for the 2012 Olympic Health. She has a strong track record in engaging with staff, communities, and strategic partners to deliver lasting impact and transformational changes.
With qualifications in Management and Urban and Regional Planning, Mary is an alumni of the Health Foundation’s inaugural Leadership Fellows programme.
Mary demonstrates a consistent ability to build high-performing teams, working from a coaching approach and using self-directed and outward mindset approaches. Whether working with boards, executive teams, or front-line staff, she focuses on creating inclusive environments that foster innovation and sustainable growth.
