
Matt is a proven finance professional with a wide range of experience across the cultural, charity, public, and commercial sectors.
Matt is an experienced finance leader who has led finance functions, provided strategic financial support, led financial and business planning, and developed new financial business models for a number of organisations.
Before Counterculture Matt was Director of Finance at Graeae Theatre where he provided strategic financial advice to joint CEOs and departmental leads and was instrumental in the successful capital bid to the Arts Council for the redevelopment of Bradbury Studios. Matt also worked as Head of Commercial Finance at the National Theatre where he was a key member of the NT Enterprises / NT Productions Senior Management Teams, leading the financial management of these trading subsidiaries. During his time at the National Theatre Matt was a central part of the team responsible for the tender, review and implementation of the outsourcing of the £12m contract for onsite food and beverage. Matt has also extensive experience of financial business partnering from his time at the Natural History Museum, Metropolitan Police and Ministry of Justice. More recently Matt has worked in the commercial sector for Ingka Centres where he led the finance function for the UK and oversaw the successful integration of their £150m asset at Churchill Square in Brighton.
