Rowena has over 15 years’ experience in museum exhibition, interpretation and programme development. Her expertise spans curation, content development, interpretation strategy and writing, as well as project scoping and management.
She has led exhibitions teams, programmes and major exhibition and gallery developments, including IMWN’s First World War Centenary special exhibition. At the Science and Industry Museum she managed the exhibitions team and led and directed international touring exhibition projects. She acted as exhibitions client through the planning stages for their new Special Exhibitions Gallery. Utilising years of practical gallery experience, she is quite literally a safe pair of hands. As well as museums and galleries, she’s worked for listed built heritage campuses, archives and wildlife conservation organisations including Chester Zoo. In 2017, on sabbatical from Science Museum Group, she was a consultant to the new Sarawak Museum and Heritage Campus Project in Kuching, Malaysian Borneo.
She has a BA in Fine Art and still practices, an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies and is trained and experienced in project management, health and safety and construction design management.
