Rupert’s work includes business and strategic planning, economic development and public policy, and project management and events. He is currently Head of Community and Equity at the Film and TV Charity, where he is establishing a new research and service development department focusing on themes of DEI and community among the film and television industry workforce across the whole of the UK.

Recent projects for the Charity include the research phase of a forthcoming £1m anti-racism project and work on professional eligibility for a £3m COVID Emergency Relief Fund run with the British Film Institute (BFI). He is also an Affiliate Researcher in the School of Culture and Creative Arts at Glasgow University.

Rupert’s previous roles include ten years at creative development agency Northern Film and Media in the Northeast of England, work in social policy (primarily with colleagues at Newcastle University), and in political communications for the Labour Party. He has a BA in English and Philosophy with First Class Honours from the University of East Anglia and conducted postgraduate research at the University of York.
