Sam is a qualified CIMA accountant, with many years of financial, strategic and commercial experience. Having spent 8 years within the logistics industry, he was then Head of Finance at Essex University Students’ Union for 6 years, before being promoted to Directorate within Commercial Services. Since moving into financial consultancy Sam has specialised within charities and the Arts including posts at Whitechapel Gallery and outsourced Finance Director at the Yard Theatre London, implementing processes to turnaround a negative budget alongside the Artistic Directors and cash flow management to facilitate a £4.5M capital project and long term sustainability.
Within the Higher Education sector, Sam’s clients have included Essex University – project portfolio reporting, Kent Students’ Union – interim Finance Director and Essex University Students’ Union – cost savings and revenue generation.
Sam specialises in process improvement, interim financial cover and project management and has a BA in Business Management. Outside of work, he enjoys rugby, golf and all things sport-related.
