Vick Bain has worked in various sectors of music for twenty-five years. For six years she was Chief Executive Officer of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (the Ivors Academy) and is a Henley Business School MBA graduate. Core skills; board governance, financial and business management, campaigning and policy development and an expert in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the creative industries.
Vick was enrolled into the Music Week Women in Music Awards ‘Roll Of Honour 2017’ and the BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Music Industry Powerlist 2018 for her work campaigning on behalf of female musicians, and is now combining a career in EDI consulting with studying for a PhD at Queen Mary University, researching women’s careers in the music industry. Her consulting clients range across the music industry from a collective of female music producers to record labels and festivals to a Northern brass band helping them develop their EDI policies and strategies, and she is in high demand as a speaker, presenter and workshop facilitator.
Vick is also President-Elect of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) and a music tech start-up called Delic. Vick is also a trustee of Parents & Carers in Performing Arts (PiPA).
