Facilitation

Facilitation can help the people within organisations work through the difficulties or changes they face, and reach a consensus about the best ways to move forward. Perhaps it’s a first step towards revising a strategic or business plan, a renewal of a company structure and staff relations, meeting funding challenges, planning and managing organisational change, or a board review of governance.

Counterculture spend a day or a half-day working with specific groups from three to forty people – boards of trustees, senior management teams or a combination of both. In advance we spend some time with the teams’ leadership, to define exactly what they want to get out of the process. We gather detailed background information so that we know as much as possible about the history of the organisation and how the situation has come about.

On the facilitation day itself our methodology will match the size and nature of the group and what’s required – some days are more reflective, some more outcome-driven. For large-scale days we can provide two Counterculture experts; smaller sessions can be run by one of us and a client’s own administrator to minute the day. The end result is a written report – drafted in collaboration with the client – that encapsulates the discussions and agreed outcomes of the day and helps the client look more confidently to the future.
