Amy McKinnon is a Primary Teacher, Community Arts and Youth Practitioner and is trained in Therapeutic Play Skills with around 20 years of experience working with a range of communities of all ages across Scotland. Throughout her career she has experience of working with communities in varying settings including education, residential and the third sector. As a specialist in working with children and young people (0-25), she is also experienced in building relationships with families, other professionals and organisations and other stakeholders.
She has extensive experience working with communities such as care experienced children and young people, families, refugees, young carers, and people with additional support needs. She is particularly skilled in finding ways to work with communities when engagement is difficult and her experience in the third sector means she has a wealth of knowledge of supports available for those she is working with. She has experience in community consultation, evaluation, and developing programmes to support communities with their educational, personal, learning, and social skills.
Amy has a Postgraduate qualification in Education, Therapeutic Play Skills, and a BA in Community Arts.
