Karin specialises in the human insight and creative end of fundraising, marketing and communications. Understanding through qual research the why behind supporting a cause, and the barriers. Distilling the opportunity for the people you want to engage in a way that speaks to what matters most to them. And bringing it to life through every kind of communication.

Karin has 30 years’ experience gained first in the pioneering Burnett Associates which changed the face of fundraising from individuals in the UK. Then at offshoot Burnett Works as creative director and partner.

Highlights have included supporter acquisition for Amnesty International, unbeaten for 10 years, which the charity said ‘saved Amnesty’s bacon’. A new proposition and creative campaigns for Macmillan Coffee Morning underpinned a leap in income from £10m to £24m over four years. The overarching fundraising proposition and messaging for Manchester Art Gallery and the gifts in will proposition and creative implementation for the Royal Exchange Theatre. The direct marketing programme Karin launched with the National Youth Orchestra and steers creatively broke even in an unheard-of-two-years.

Karin has worked with the RNLI, the Royal Exchange Theatre, Greenpeace, The British Council, Breast Cancer Now, Manchester Gallery, Shelter, the National Trust, UNHCR, Samaritans, Kings Health Partners, the RAF Benevolent Fund, Barnardos, Samaritans, Cancer Research UK, and many more.
