Sally is an arts and culture consultant based in the North East of England, with a broad base of experience across arts, museums and heritage. Specialist areas include preparing and delivering capital and revenue fundraising campaigns, communications, developing visitor attractions, governance, cross-sector partnerships, festivals and events, and arts and culture project management.

Sally has held various roles in the North East region’s cultural sector over the past 20 years. Most recently, she was Assistant Director – Partnerships & Communications at Beamish, the UK’s largest open air museum, leading on fundraising, stakeholder management, communications and strategic partnership development. Before joining Beamish, Sally held various roles within local authority cultural services, and also worked for the regional cultural agency Museums, Libraries, Archives North East, leading on cultural education.

As Arts Manager at Durham County Council from 2009 – 2013, Sally led a team of specialist arts officers. She was instrumental in catalysing the arts festival culture that County Durham is developing a national profile for.

Sally has held a range of trusteeships/ non-exec roles over the years, and is currently a Director of Visit County Durham, and a trustee of participatory arts organisation The Forge, which specialises in working with children and young people.
