Syd is Executive Chairman and founder of multi-award-winning digital agency, Clock. From the company’s early days as a Prince’s Trust start-up, he now runs one of the top 100 digital marketing agencies in the UK. This success has largely come from inspiring the brilliant people he has around him – all of whom buy into his innovative way of doing business.

Syd’s passion for digital, and his devotion to the Prince’s Trust, have seen him get involved with a few other businesses including SwipeStation, Colooder, Enemy of Boredom Academy and Brilliant Memorabilia.

Syd appears regularly as a motivational speaker in schools, Universities and at industry events to share his inspirational story, and in 2012 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Hertfordshire in recognition of his work in the development of business and entrepreneurial education. Syd was also invited to become a companion of the CMI and joined as a member in August 2015.

Clock has also been used on numerous occasions as best-of-breed in its field by the DTI and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and features in the book, The Future of Work, published by Cass Business School.

Charity has always been a core part of Syd’s world and, for nine years, he chaired the fundraising committee for the Prince’s Trust and sat on the Eastern Region board. He sat on the fundraising committee of the Peace Hospice in Watford and is a supporter of the Saracens Sport Foundation. Syd also volunteers for the Hertfordshire Community Fund (HCF) and is Co-Founder of the Chamber of Conscience – a Network of Goodwill.

In 2016 Syd featured on the Maserati 100 list that recognises entrepreneurs who are generously giving their time and resource to support the next generation of young entrepreneurs.
