Should the Charity Commission charge the sector?

In March 2017 the Charity Commission for England and Wales wrote a letter to the Lords Select Committee on Charities, with an update on its plans for income generation from the charity sector.

The letter states that it will “focus on incremental services that could be funded by the sector that support and are in line with [its] new statement of regulatory approach, launched at [its] recent Annual Public Meeting, with an increased focus on enablement.”

No charges will be levied until an open and wide consultation takes place.
